Join Forward Pinellas and the City of Oldsmar for a guided “Bike Your City” group ride around Oldsmar, FL
March 10th from 8:30 a.m.- 11 a.m.
Free and family-friendly! This bike ride will showcase the many beautiful sights and wonderful amenities around the City of Oldsmar, it’s parks, and waterfront. On this guided and slow, 6.5 mile tour, riders will learn about roadway safety and trail etiquette while exploring local amenities which you will find beautiful, exciting and surprising.
Space is limited. Registration is required. The first 100 people registered will receive a free BYC 23 t-shirt! Water and refreshments will be available. Minor bike maintenance and repairs will be provided by BikeSport.

BYC 2023 Event Details
Bike Your City 2023 opens to the public at 8:30 AM, located at R.E. Olds Park. The opening ceremony will start at 9:00 AM. The tour will start immediately following the opening ceremony.
The ride will include an easy and slow guided 6.5 mile roundtrip tour of Oldsmar. The tour route is part of Oldsmar’s ten-mile trail system which connects the city’s eleven parks over various surfaces. Sections of the trail include wide sidewalks through neighborhoods, asphalt sections through natural areas, and crushed shell through the preserve area. Tables will be set up at R.E. Olds Park which will feature safety information and resources.
About Bike Your City: Bike Your City is a free, slow-paced, family-friendly bike ride that showcases the many beautiful sights and wonderful amenities around Pinellas County. On this guided and slow tour, riders will learn about roadway safety and trail etiquette while exploring local amenities which you’ll find beautiful, exciting, and surprising.
Please note: Parents or guardians must register their child in advance and the child must be supervised by parents or guardians at all times during the entire event. There will not be lessons on bike riding at this event.
Destinations on the BYC 2023 Route

R.E. Olds Park
Our starting point, R.E. Olds Park became Oldsmar’s first official park in 1972. This 15-acre waterfront park offers a scenic view of Tampa Bay and Oldsmar, features a 400 ft. fishing pier, 12,000 sq. ft. Friendship Playground, nature trails, open-air amphitheater, & more. It is named after Oldsmar’s founder, Ransom E. Olds, inventor and founder of the Oldsmobile company.

Harbor Palms Nature Park
Harbor Palms Nature Park, opened in 1995, is a 35-acre park with beautiful views of plant and animal life. It boarders the Lake Tarpon outfall canal and features the Oldsmar Trail, a floating fishing dock, and a PDGA Gold Level Disc Golf Course.

Lake Tarpon Canal
The canal serves as a water control feature for the area and features opportunities for hiking, bicycling, boating, canoeing-paddling, and fishing, along with picnic tables and restrooms.

Sheffield Park
Sheffield Park was opened in 1989 as the city’s 3rd official park and consists of ball fields, tennis courts, a basketball court, playground and section of paved trail. It also contains a painted ground mural, ``Native Balance;`` a public art project for the North Pinellas Cultural Alliance.

Moccasin Creek
Moccasin Creek Recreation Area hosts a section of trail in a natural setting with three boardwalks.
